To paraphrase Mark Twain - "Reports of the BrewCabin's death have been greatly exaggerated"
I suspect that Tony will be along when his ISP's Domain Name Servers catch up with the current ip address.

Great to see it back again. I got so much work done the last few days because I wasn't checking the bloody site every 30mins.

It's a huge relief to be back, but all credit must go to ianMelb of this parish for it was he that managed to get those inept tossers at <spit> UK2 to sellotape the domain name (which they had in one cupboard) onto the website, which they had in another cupboard, and so to make it all whole again. The man is a true hero!
Regarding the spam problem: once we've got our breath back and had a brew, the next task is to upgrade the Brew Cabin to a new PHP version which will, hopefully, be more spam-proof. Other than initiating time-consuming pre-posting approval for new members, I don't think there is a way to make a forum such as this 100% spam-proof, but I'm hoping the additional security and filtering offered by phpBB will significantly reduce the amount of this drivel we have to endure. Meanwhile, thanks to all the spam-patrol members who do a truly marvellous job of reporting and deleting the offending crud.

wife was starting to ask questions about what was wrong with me, why was I unhappy and getting under her feet and don't talk to me about the amount of cr*p I've brought on ebay because I had no paving expert to look at
Three cheers for Ian & Tony.

Thanks Tony, although to be honest, you must have the patience of a saint - some of their obtuse replies (when they bothered) would have had me reaching for Roger Mellie's Profanasous so that I could find more names to call them.
