I am doing some work at my mother's house. She wants new floors in her bathroom and toilet. She likes Altro (www.altro.co.uk). You often see Altro in public places, hospitals, schools, offices, factories, McDonalds toilets etc etc.

The one that she likes is a bit fancier than the stuff you get in McD's bogs (Altro Marine 20 too be precise).

I really don't like the stuff though. I think it feels horrible (they have sent us some) and I hate the texture. She says she likes it as it is "warm" but she has underfloor heating so stone would be warm! But maybe I am just a bit traditionalist liking tiles.

I think Altro may be a pain to clean as it is quite rough and bit of dirt will become ingrained in it??? Does anyone have any views on this product, either good or bad? If you have underfloor heating I can't understand why anyone would want anything other than tiles...

we didover 500m2 of altro last year doing work for luton council and it is the bollox ted
specialist guys have to do the fitting as it has an upstand and has to be accurate
but i have seen stuff we did 4-7 years ago and it is very easy to clean and looks good after time
council actually specify it for all disabled bathrooms and schools
i know what you mean about tiles but you can literally slosh water on altro and mop it off
cheers LLL :)

Not yet...

I am still suggesting tiles as they are cheaper, but we shall see...
