Fancy a laugh?

These pillocks thought it was a good idea to help themslves to some images from my site. If there's one thing I can't abide, it's a thief. Anyone prepared to rip off someone else's hard work is lower than scum.

So: I updated the images for them - take a look! :D

Not only that but they seem unaware of the difference between "compliment" and "complement".

Brilliant!

I was watching the page references whilst it loaded -- I don't think there's an original photo on the entire site -- they've nicked artwork from everyone on the web, it would seem.

What I find totally unbelieveable is that they didn't just steal the pictures, they hot-linked them! So they use YOUR sever every time the pictures are loaded. Swine!

Fancy a laugh?

I went through source code and followed back some of their image links, then emailed the owners of the images to let them know.

Not to worry - I have another "victim"..... :p

http://tiger.towson.edu/~mdough4/

...the clowns from Franco emailed me protesting that they had paid some teenage geek, in good faith, to construct their website, and were full of apologies, but, as Mike Mouldmaker pointed out, EVERY image on their site is called from other folks' servers!

Let's see how long it takes them to spot the new image!

It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly loyal are the readers of this site - as soon as they spot summat that's been nicked, they let me know and it seems they are as indignant as I am at such blatant disregard for intellectual property.

That stolen image is still there! That's one top quality web-site.

It looks like it was done as a classroom exercise by some of the lazier students at Towson University, and isn't being done for profit.

BUT it also doesn't give them the right to nick Tony's work -- even if it's considered fair use for academic purposes, they are still legally obligated to cite the source -- and shame on the instructor for not enforcing this legal requirement.

(see, I *did* learn summat in all those years at uni!)

I know this isn't related to pictures but the best thing we had nicked from site were 2 110v rad rad heaters. I still have visions of a house melting / blowing up somewhere in the country. :D
