What bloody insurance do i need? I have been told i need landscaper and grouNdworker insurance for my business. I will cover both areas but i thought that i would just need groundworker insurance as that covers such a wide spectrum. Do i need to be covered for both??

I have contractors all risk policy.

It covers me for £50,000 worth of hired in plant
My own tools on site
My own tools in my lock-up
£5 million public liability
employers liability
excavation to 2m
tree felling to 8m

Costs me around £500-£600

Hope this helps

Dan's right - Contractors All Risk is the best 'value for money', if insurance can be thought of as offering value.

Be wary of the insurance company reps as they try to foist upon you all sorts of policies you do not need, which may be why you're being told to take out groundworker and landscaper policies. Occasionally, it's worth taking out a separate policy to cover a particular job, just in case anything goes wrong, but a good CAR policy should cover you for 95% of your everyday work.

And get at least 3 quotes - here's one company that we have used in the past.
