Hi to all, I have been laying black gold for nearly 25 years now and now and again when we get the hot weather you get the dreaded phone call, my drive is sticky, its coming up with the wheels, I just wanted to know what you guys tell them as they always think your trying to fob them off

Best way would to educate them before you go.
Ten minutes explaining temperature variations to a new drive owner could save an hour round trip in the future.

Hi, we always give a leaflet out on how to take care of their new drive, what not to do.... don't turn on one spot, but even if you educate them the fact of the matter is, tarmac is vulnerable in hot conditions

Yes, basically give them the run down on how to treat the new surfacing for the first summer or so.
80% of our driveway works are 6mm SMA and 10mm SMA on the steep ones - and fingers crossed, we don't get much trouble. Not saying we don't get some who try it on and/or abuse the new surface.
