Hello everyone, sorry to bother you with a topic not realy about paving but nowhere else to ask,I am going to fix plasterboards to a wall which is plastered with a stucco effect and imulsioned,I intend to coat the wall first with febond before dabbing adhesive on to stick the plasterboard to.When using a bonding agent does the plasterboard have to be put on straight away or can it be left for a few days ,I wondered if the bonding would go off, regards Keith.

Well if you are dabbing plaster boards you have to work with the bonding agent quiet fast as it goes of quik.
Best way is to counter batten the wall with slaters latts and screw the plaster boards to it.
i have seen walls that have been dabbed and the bonding agent acts like a sponge if any moisture gets in the back of the plaster board the dabs show up on the boards.
Personally i find dabbing a waste of time unless it is on partition walls never do it on your external walls as damp can make a right mess and you will have to skip the lot and it stinks too when it gets wet.

If you are bonding with Ronafix SBR, always use it 1:1 with cement. On its own it won't work as a bonding agent.
It's "pot life" is 15-20 minutes at 20oC. After that it's gone off and you'll have to reapply.
And on porous boards it'll soak in. And if there's none on the board, it won't bond.
Coverage: 1 litre of Ronafix + 1 litre of cement will cover ~ 2.5 to 4m2.
