I have just had some news today from one of my suppliers that I am shocked about
He has said that where he buys his crushed concrete from, they are mixing in tarmac chippings(road planings) and broken glass!!
I wouldn't dream of using tarmac as a subbase, and I dont want it in the crushed.
Apparantly, they still charge the same price for it, there is still the aggregate tax, but because the road planings are a waste product,(as is the glass) they don't carry the levy, so more profit for the person selling it. I bet they get paid for recycling the glass by someone too! what a scam.
I will be avoiding this like the plague. I have heard of building inspectors rejecting this type of material.
Anyone else having problems like this? :(

I have never had a problem with this but i know 2 people with large crushers (£100,000 worth of machine) and believe me they crush what they can, Profit margin is not a new thing, in other words when was the last time you or me checked our MOT for glass and why should they care, its not there job.
