This site is a little slow, but it does not take away from anything. I would live with it rather than spend huge amounts of money to change it. The only thing I would change about this site is to use inches along with the metric system for those of us over here. I was born in UK but I now live in the USA. There is no site like this one over here. I am installing a paver driveway 95 feet long. I have installed a 20 x 30 patio a few years ago. This site has been extremely helpful. Keep up the good work

Reminds me of a sign outside my local timber yard...

75mm x 50mm softwood - only 18p per foot!

I have absolutely no intention of ever....

1 - going back to the antediluvian days of imperial feet and inches meaurements - they are totally incompatible with the contemporary British and Irish paving trades.

2 - tailoring my site to suit residents of overseas countries. This site is, and always will be devoted to the ramshackle assortment of soggy islands somewhere off the western coast of mainland Europe. Those of you in N.America have more than enough sites pandering to your strange ways: this one is for us. You're welcome to visit, but don't start getting all Dubya on me and telling me how to run my own part of the world. ;)

Tony,
Truth be told we do have to many "strange sites" pandering to our very strange needs.

Problem is none of them hold a candle to you and your site.
I liked your suggestion of some sort of pop up convesion chart. For us who are weak of mind.

You mentioned in my post on the block pave forum

I didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers. This is the best site I have found about pavers. There is nothing like this here in the states. I wasn't saying you HAD to convert to feet and inches, it was just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.

No ruffled feathers here, Don! :)

I know it wasn't a demand on your part, but I think it might save me a lot of grief if I provide "An Eejit's Guide to Metric Dimensions" for those folk still struggling with a base 12 system. ;)
