Hi guys. I want to install a raised patio. Only 6 inches height but I want to fit vertical pavers around the sides just under the patio if you know what I mean.

Do I need to install a shallow but level concrete foundation for this or can I just lay sub base on top of membrane and compact but keep sub base perimeter a couple of inches inside of the outer perimeter of the patio then lay patio to level and trowel in a strong mortar and position cut slabs after for the sides?

Cheers :-)

I guess a trench filled with mortar/ concrete and pavers bedded in the same as you would normal edging?

a trench then the vertical pavers laid onto 150mm of lean mix concrete then haunched with a stronger wetter mix will work

I would do 2 courses of brickwork,but then I am a bricklayer :;):

Cheers bud.

I'm going to have a go at building brick pillars soon to surround my the uprights for the verandah I'm building my dad.

Saw some really nice bricks. Gotta do it
