Currently I work for an engineering firm up here in the wild North, however I've spotted a major lack in the amount of company's that can provide Utility suppliers asset location plans. Utility suppliers have twigged onto this and started charging rather inflated prices for the plans.
I'm trying to gauge interest in the community on whether people would be willing to pay for a 'Utilities Package' of BT,Electric,Gas and Water plans before commencing a job for feasibility or to save on site time.
Please shoot me down if you don't think this would work or let me know if you have any ideas about it.

should be free service from all utilities to pull an app up on phone and see whats there based on your gps location would save millions in time and repairs etc
obviously some form of register as not everyone should have the info but id pay an annual subscription but then there all the liability of if the drawings are wrong etc accurate to 2m +/- etc
is dial before you dig number still going, think is USA they come mark them for you with little flags before you commence not sure if it free or paid service

At the minute when we request a services plan we end up with an A3 plan that we have to transpose onto our drawings. The accuracy of the drawings is very low.
If you dial before you dig up here they'll tell you that they've got assets in the area but will charge you for a drawing with them on.
