i completed a job for a customer in october 2007 i recently received a solicitors letter claiming the tarmac was broken up and they wanted me to renew the whole driveway at my cost,i was shocked that it took them 27 months to complain they did not approach me before i received the solicitors letter i inspected the driveway and on inspection it was quite clear that there had been a heavy vehicle on the drive which had broken up the tarmac around a manhole lid what do you think they are now threatening me with court action

A lot will depend on if you gave them a written spec etc, I would run it by your solicitor see what they say.

2 years later is a bit of a piss take. if they have abused the driveway then it's their fault. poor material or workmanship usually shows up sooner.

if you buy a teak coffee table and don't use a coaster, would you return it to the shop if it marked? some folk eh?

just be very careful what you say in any reply
people like this normally make a habit of taking liberties
