im getting rid of my raised front lawn and want to for now just put down some type 1 so I can use the area for occasional parking what do you think is the minimum depth I can use ? do you think I would get away with 100mm? in a few years im going to re do the whole drive but cant afford it at the mo :p also how do I stand regards suds ?

It's not ideal at 100mm, especially when it's been lawned, but you could put 100mm down and when there's a bit of settlement in the near future, you could top it up.

I would put 150mm down. 100mm is the minimum but when you have the machinery and skip there an extra 50mm is peanuts for a driveway, chances are the only extra expense will be a few tonne of type 1

All depends upon the ground conditions - you could have 300mm of topsoil!
