I am sure i have asked this before but is there a definitive length for ramps for a certain drop?

we have a drop due to site conditions of 300mm

I have guestimated that the ramp should be around 3.6m long for a sports car to enter without grounding

so in essence i reckon around 1.2m of ramp for every 100mm of drop

anyone got any sensible thoughts to add?

cheers LLL

I think the guys who supllied my ramps for the digger did some sort of calc to tell me the answer, but your idea sounds right to me for a car. A machine can go a lot steeper

I would curve the ramp over at the top rather than going point to point from the bottom to the top so there is less of a chance of the anything grounding if the car has sports grills or lowered suspension
