I want to use some reclaimed 450x450 concrete slabs as a shed base (about 3x3m) going at the end of my garden. I was intending to use MOT1 as the base layer, but due to timing and access getting enough MOT1 into the area for this is a major chore and additional expense.

Given the light usage, could I skip the MOT1 and just stiffen up the bedding layer with cement?

Out of interest, how would I visually identify a wet-cast flagstone? I see in another old thread they're not recommended as a base. I've no idea as to the origins of the slabs I'm re-using, however I'm fairly confident they're nowhere near as tough as the BS pavers I'm using elsewhere.

wet cast usually have more than 1 colour and have a smooth but patterned finish
i.e. riven slabs or millstone

If no subbase lay on 100mm of 6:1 grit sand cement
its not right but better than nothing
