i have owned a house for 23 years that I rent out

in 1994 the previous neighbours erected a fence ,which blew down around 5 years ago

i tried in vain to contact the landlord via the tenants but he/she blanked me

I even offered to install it for free if they bought the gear

this morning I received a snotty letter telling me to put my fence back up as their new tenants want a fence

talk of solicitors ,legal arguments etc etc

an obnoxious prick IMHO

i checked my title deeds from 1902 and no where does it show a boundary belonging to anyone

any thoughts (apart from the obvious)

You're not legally obliged to fence your property. If you wanted you could simply draw a chalk line. If your neighbour really wants a fence, then they can put one up, on their side of the boundary..

I always thought the one to your left is your responsibility. Garden Law would be the place to ask :;):
