:( hi this is my first post, I am building a patio area approx 40m2, ive dug out and put in membrane, 10 tonnes of type 1to raise the level, the garden slopes! I will shortly be choosing the flags, however im slightly low on the sub-base level and im left with all the large stones, all the fines have gone! Im topping up with sharp sand and cement a 10/1 ratio, is this acceptable? Its my first patio.

Not really, just get some more sub-base. Its cheaper and quicker to put in than mortar.

I did think of that but I only needed to raise it an inch, just needed to fill the voids and get a "tight" finish.

get more type 1 you could be looking at getting the best part of an extra 2 ton
do it properly and do it once

If you only need to raise by an inch use 20mm to dust (20mm down or whatever they call it yor way) much easier to level to correct profile than type 1.
