got a large drive to price

332.5m2

the guy wants 200mm setts around the border

but a lot of spoil to remove

to dig out this amount i reckon
74 M3 which is going to bulk up to maybe 125 m3

so 12 8 wheelers

sound right?

cheers LLL

for that size can you get some decent sized plant to scrape up and load a 20ton, which you get more in and if possible have on turn around. what is already in situ?

a lot of bleeding trees and quite poor access
its a big house in a big wood ,all the tree have TPOs on them
we have to dig round the trees at least 1500 away and 225 deep

I was thinking about using a 3 tonne machine and 1 tonne dumper because of the access

still reckon at least 12 8 wheeler grabs

I think that should be they *sometimes* have good setts. I've seen some right shite out of their yard and I've had to send stuff back at times.

I still think Julian at StoneScape in Wiggin has the best selection of setts in NW England, closely followed by Dave @ AI Bricks in Salford.

Good to hear tony, I've got 3 jobs to price at the moment in evenings as well as running two jobs and trying to be on the tools as well. 1 tender has 18 x a1 drawings and a 30 page speficiation for a new biomass facility the other one has 3d models and 8 xA1 and 10 pages of specification the third is a large stone extension which has sweet fa detail and is just elevation drawings. I need to clone myself.

Have you seen their prices?

It's a long time since I could justify any of the prices being charged by Steptoes! They quoted me 100 quid/m² for reclaimed yorkstone flags which I can get for 70 almost anywhere else. And that was a so-called 'trade price' to someone they know is a regular buyer.
