Soil bulking

Iv just done some calculations for digging out an 85m2 patio to depth of 180mm for the infil. my calculations seem to be saying i would need 30 skips, this seems well out to me.

Id like to get grabs in as there cheaper but theres not the access for them, 7yrd skips are all i can get there. 4

Any thoughts? 30 7yrd skips seems way too much to me.

My mental block has just passed, so glad it has i need 4 skips! my maths was all wrong.

I put into the calculator 80m long, 5m wide by 0.18 deep.

85m2 * .18m = 15 m3 to remove. Multiply it depending on type of ground that you are digging out and it comes to nowhere near 30 skips.

I would allow 5 skips kieran

yeah I am allowing 5 for 5 skips. Its alright as soon as i posted I realised what I had done wrong.

Thats what I was using Giles but put 80 in length 5 in width and the right depth, thats where I went wrong.

Its alright im just a div at times!
