Our sister company is quoting on the supply of a log cabin in Eastbourne, however the customer is busy and just wants to hand over the whole job to us including the base installation. Unfortunately we don't have any contacts in the Eastbourne area and wondered if there's anyone out there willing to quote on constructing a concrete base suitable for a building measuring 6.85m x 5.3m.

This can be a standalone job or if you have the necessary skillset, the option of installing the building is available too.

Thanks,

George

Hi George, I have a ground works company and a building company and between the two we would be more than competent in laying the base and building the timber cabin for you, I would need quite a lot more information from you before I could officially offer to do the works if you are interested.

Bazil could you kindly explain why you have a photo of my Marshalls national award winning driveway 2012 on your web site

http://www.nwdriveway.co.uk/block-paving/

4th photo, the other 3 photos on the slider are other Marshalls installers photos

unless your a Marshalls approved installer you don't have copyright permission to use these photos on your web site and you certainly do not have my permission to use my award winning photo

I await your reply

I knew a landscaper who lets say after being friends for years, i stopped all contact with him and even moved house(he lived next door) , set up a website and used all my photos from my jobs and projects.
he has since lost the website so no action was required :)

Hi MickG

Having checked I found your picture on other pages too, I can only apologise, I have had all instances of it removed.

Hi LLL

It's a strange one that picture, I'm not certain, but I think all the block paving pictures came from the download section on Marshall's website, but if mickg says it's his then it's his that's why it's been taken off. The pictures on the website our from our own jobs, bought or from suppliers download sections, the problem being we have never really taken pictures of our own work, who does unless you have a website, we have only just started taking pictures since the website went up, I give the lads a camera and get stuff like this back www.nwdriveway.co.uk/images/DSC00606.JPG thats why I prefer to buy professional pictures because they look better. To me a website is just the same as a catalogue, hence mine is like a Marshall's advert.

I did make the website myself, I injured myself years ago and had to pack in the building game, so went to university and studied Software Engineering (that kind of thing was always a hobby) so I'm pretty IT savvy. I had two operations and the second one fixed me so I went back to building because for some weird reason I love it.

TBH Bazil that is a good photo compared to what our blokes take
your webby is fair to good

2 things worry me a little

1 no landline or real address === > makes it look pikey

2 being experts in multitudes of paving disciplines

I.E. mickG is the campeo del mundo block paver

cookie is the best sett man we know

Dave L lays tarmac like glass

michael cuts the grass

we all lay flags

and I make the tea
:)

but what i am saying, and please take this as constructive criticism is you cannot be an expert at everything

cheers LLL

The fact that Marshalls make images available for contractors to (mis)use is worrying. It's actually an offence to portray *any* work as your own when it was carried out by others. It's known as 'Passing Off' and as one arsehole in North Manchester knows only too well, using photies of someone else's work (mine!) and pretending it's yours can see you end up in court, fined a big handful of money, and more worryingly, banned from my website for ever and a day.

You can use photies to show product, but it should be clear (Crystal Clear, even!) that the installation work is not yours.

If a contractor want to attract customers, then they should have the courage of their convictions and show only examples of their own work. What would happen if, say, Hyundai started showing Mercs on their publicity material? Same principal. Don't show me what others can do: show me what YOU can do!

We have Marshalls images on our PavingSuperstore website and we received a letter from the chairman's office at Marshalls asking why we were using them as it's against their policy etc. We SELL their paving and were using the photos to promote THEIR products for purchase! They were fine about it once they realised the mistake, but they are normally really hot on people using their photos online, so be very careful as they will undoubtedly find you! It's also worth nothing that other images you find online are sometimes copyrighted and I heard of people just getting a bill through the post for the use of the photos without licence.
