Hi. I've just had a new Timber framed Garage installed, but came home to find a huge puddle inside. The framing sits directly on top of a single course of engineering brick (as advised). The brick course is laid directly onto the concrete slab (as advised). No DPC has been installed, nor was it recommended. The slab is bigger than the structure, to provide a narrow walkway all round. This has not been graded to shed water away from the brickwork. Can anyone suggest how I can prevent rainwater ingress into the building? Tanking? Internal fillet? External fillet? Flashing?....what would you recommend? Thanks in advance, JonathanMy Webpage

Does the garage have a gutter, or does the roof discharge all its water straight onto the path?

Hi..thanks for your response...I'm installing the guttering tomorrow, but the water seems to coming in from the rear of the building. it's an apex roof so the guttering wouldn't be fitted at the rear..

I have done a few of these and that design is bound to fail
the proper way is to build the slab to the exact dimension of the slab so that water discharges past the slab not onto it
its a fail
you could try 3 coats of blackjack to the exterior as a makeweight but Its still not right
