Anyone ever had this done?

With so many brick manufacturers gone now and so many bricks discontinued, on paper this seems like it could be a pretty good idea.
I dont know anything at all about it though, :), just heard it mentioned and had a quick google.

Would be interested to know if anyone on here has used the process though.

it looks interesting
as a bricklayer I notice more and more bricks are discontinued

however whether your common or garden punter will pay for this service is another thing entirely

Used to use a company called Construction Cosmetics (I think they're still going) to tint mortar as well as bricks. Very labour intensive as would expect, hence quite costly. However, if you're faced with an architect that says "knock the building down" because one batch of bricks (or mortar) varies from the rest, it's worth it.
