Hi, I am getting 9 tons of topsoil delivered tomorrow (monday).

Is it safe to have the 1 ton bags placed onto my 3 year old block paved drive?

If it is, would it be able to take the weight of 1 bag on top of another (maximun 2 high)

Currently the drive shows not sign of sinkage with having a vectra parked on it

Thanks

It will be fine. If your concerned place a few sheets of ply-wood etc down to spread the load. Certainly don;t let the delivery lorry put a leg down on your paving though unless its very well supported

would it not be cheaper to get it tipped loose on the road and barrow it in
9 tonnes is a lot of topsoil but you could do that in a day
lot cheaper loose

I thought about that

but just in case the weather gets to be 30C in the shade and I go out on my motorbike for the day I thought I would get in in neat bags instead
