stood here watching 200 aco channels 300 deep 250 wide being skipped. On the plus side the design has been changed so i wont have to fit them now :;):

Should have nicked them and got them on Ebay.
Everyone wastes too much, stuff is built to break and get thrown away

bloody hell that's thousands of pounds being chucked there I know you work for a large firm but surely they could've been reused on another site. Given their size they were at least 40-50 quid a pop.

Just thinking that today, looking at putting roof extension in, totted up joist and flooring costs...ouch.
Use to skip or give most of that stuff away :(

its amazing that the bosses dont ask one of the lads to stick stuff like that on ebay, split the cash and all have a drink, complete madness.

that makes everything else on the site open to abuse though Dan, its more cost effective to bin it than to pay someone to move it to another site

its the same with all the big builders on the housing estates, to us its defies logic but to someone sat behind a desk its a time and motion exercise

This goes to the heart of whats wrong with the way public money is spent in this country those acco's were bought with taxpayers money (about £10000 ish) and because it's someone else who's paying for it (us) it doesn't matter. This happens day in day out on public works and within public services if we cut even half of it out then we'd probably not be in anywhere near the sh#t we're in but everyone thinks it's not their job to do anything about it and few even care. Makes me really angry.
