I am planning on using gravel for my drive, thought this would be the cheapest option! I have looked into using the "gravel gridding" for an area of around 200 sq m this works out really expensive, (over £3000) do I really need the grid or could I achieve a good result without it? The area has be dug out, filled with Type 1 and been well wackered. Edging blocks have been used all round. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ah well !!!! was about 50mm but after looking through post on this site its back to wacking down another 15mm of type 1 so should be left with around 35 to 40 mm for gravel

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have now read the page. What is your opinion on the grid and have you ever used it?
Thanks again
