ok, have a new property project starting in a few weeks as i have moved and managed to buy something more afordable for the family.
i need some advice on the DPC the render is to the ground level and damp is capillarating acros the course via the render, its come up on the survey and will be one of the first jobs on a long list. i wanted your advice guys...

im thinking grind bove the damp course maybe as little as 50-60mm above and remove render from below, this will then expose the brick which may look untidy after ive had the kango on it, im thinking fit a drip bead and finish above render. but what do i do with the exposed brickwork?

all advice gratefully recieved
Dan

Could you not replaster it with a water proof render if you cut the line neat enough you could make a detail of the join parhaps with the lower section siting 10mm proud of the restthen bevelled to meet it.

Will you need a kango on it if its all damp anyway? Cut it back above dpc and as you say whack a stop or rendercast bead on?
