i have to replace some exterior timber normal I would use tanalised but I am also going to have to paint it white gloss, can you paint tanalised wood and is there any benefit to having the tanalised timber in the first place if you are going to paint it?

so it doesnt rot?
the thing is mikey ,years ago they could use proper preservative on wood, the fascias on my house are 90 years old and not rotten at all
but all sorts of chemical nasties in those days
i dont think you can get planed tanalised timber,i have never seen it
so its
1 knot and fill the wood
2 primer
3 undercoat
4 2nd undercoat
5 decent exterior gloss
thats the spec we give the painter for bare wood
