This is my first patio. I've laid the sub-base and concrete. All seemed well but I now realise the slope for rainwater run off is too steep (2.5 inches drop for a 10.8 feet width). Can I build up the lower end with an extra layer of concrete (an inch at the bottom, tapering to next to nothing around the middle)? I thought I could then level out any unevenness with the mortar I use to bed the slabs in. I'd be grateful for any help. I may have been a bit ambitious as I'm a total novice.

theres not a lot wrong with your 1:50 fall
you can adjust another 20 mm on the bedding to make it 1:70
no need for thin layers just adjust your bedding to suit

Yes you can lay a thin bonded screed.
Minimum depth 6mm.
Maximum depth per layer 50mm.
Method
Prepare the surface. Ensure structurally sound and stable and suitable to receive and restrain a high strength screed.
Clean, wash with water, leave damp, no puddles.
Prime with 1:1 Ronafix : cement primer.
Mix and lay Ronafix Mix A screed comprising cement, medium grade sharp sand, Ronafix and water.
Lay onto wet or tacky primer.
Compact. Lay to falls, screed smooth.
Protect and cure.
See Ronafix for Thin Bonded Screeds

Many thanks for your replies. I am really grateful for this help. I think I will just adjust my bedding levels. Also, as I'm going to lay natural stone slabs I think I'll be able to find thicker ones for the lower end to lessen the slope in that way as well.
Thanks again.
