Going to sound like a plank now but I've forgot how to mark out an oval. I have done e few bafore but it's a while now. We have a project starting in a couple of weeks which the designer has specified an oval Paving area.
I remember that it invloves forming an axis by marking out the centre of the width and then, do you set a peg at the length, centre that mark and loop a string line round it and mark using that loop pulled tight or am I wrong? Does anyone understand what I'm on about? I think I do!! ???

Not sure if this helps but I found this.

It's how to draw an oval on paper but would imagine the principal is the same?

do 3 circles. One large in the middle then intersect with 2 smaller ones either side. Same diameter and distance from radius of principal
Or do this:
Wood work elipse.
Easy version :
two pegs and a bit 'o' string

Yeah, know what you mean mate. The Dog's ok, gets a bit busy, the rest round here are either shite, dodgy or both. We tend to go either to Harborne, Moseley or Digbeth, or anywhere the Ales good. Worked in Ambleside/Stourbridge last month, they know how to treat Beer and Pubs there!! 4 micro Brewery Pubs within 3 miles of where we were working. I think thats why their so hard to understand !!

Used to go to the vine etc, my brothers still go there. Remember the daddy long legs club digbeth and the afternoon pub just by the flyover, used to get a good bowl of stew there. Talk of the town up the stratford road was a spit and sawdust club, then the gary owen for the 3 card brag and a big steak.

The Gary Owen, Jeez mate that was a place, don't think it's been closed that long, but you had to keep your wits about you in there, Mate of mine got offered a knife in the bogs once and told he was gonna need it. We Left pretty rapid. Found out later he'd got a Rangers badge on the back collar of his Jacket..twat
