Got a job next week and guy says a foot down it's bedrock, anyone had experience with bcos etc and what they want depth wise. They don't want you to breaker it out just to pour concrete do they?
Normally got miles of clay or sand here

I was on a site in Liverpool where the ground lads were channeling through bedrock so that the strip foundation could be poured on the orders of the BCO, complete lunacy

Tony dont want to intimidate them hehe
Might take the 8 toner then if we have to go that route, bigger= better when hammering.
I'm going to run it by our structural engineer see if we can raft it instead. This guys architect has thought it usually bs about assumed ground condition being perfect.

hi giles i did a job many years ago house and out buildings built on bed rock which i what they did hundreds of years ago drove stakes in ground to map out area so they could map out house and out buildings thats why somtimes you think why is that cottage there ie the bedrock best footing you can find if stable and you allow water still to flow.anyway back to point bo wanted rock out would not listen to my point 300 year cottage not moved so i got struc enginer to draw cage for me shutterd and done ps drilled holding bars into bedrock :p
