there is a crack the same the other side and allso all up the back i think it was doomed from the start

Michael - all buildings move, all of the time - the nature of the beast - because we now glue bricks together with no flex - obvious we get cracks all over - bring back lime mortar I say... :p

What are we looking at in the second picture. if it's the wide joint, i would'nt of thought the bricks are laid on that.it looks more like the brickwork is slightly corbelled, for what ever reason and then someone has wacked something in there. Is it a rubberised sealant?

the bricks are layed on the joint its actually built on the old doorstep (6" thick ) its been up 22 years and the crack is getting worse more so after this last winter this is my nans house that im hopeing to buy and i was hopeing this might nock a few quid off :laugh: im not ripping her off by the way she passed away last month

ive had another look at this and there is a gap between the side of the window and the brickwork :rock: i can see inside without looking through the glass
