Dont need a mini paver for trench work.... be quicker and cheaper with hand lay

I doubt that, no way a team could be quicker than a paver, plus more consistent finish with paver and hotter laying temperature.

It would still be cheaper though i reckon, they have been using a mini planer round our way to plane patches out of the road for reinstatement, that was a handy looking tool about the size of a tcp mini crusher

on a small trench maybe but patching a large run and capacity at 200 tons a day claimed, plus the manual handling and health and safety risks associated with hot bitmac make it a far better choice for big utilities etc. shovelling out the back of a wagon or using barrow shoots etc still messy job, clean up etc al adds to the cost plus 1 man on paver can replace a team of four or 5 hand laying.

i saw lads near chorleywood on the M25 extruding kerbs about 750 high last week
they had a concrete lorry pouring gear in and the machine was slowly moving along
the next day they had formed a crash barrier about 25 metres long

feature in this months earth movers about a motor way in ireland, using extruder and have a drain in the middle made my inflating a tube while forming then deflating and removing, but m25 been covered before they bury a 1" steel cable in the middle on the central barrier, then have lads following up with stihl saws cutting expansion joints and guys with floats doing any polishing. great bits of kits can do v channel as well.

recent recording of PW1500 laying 60mm of binding course at 1275mm wide. On this job the machine achieved up to 200 tonnes a day.
Ahhhhhh in that case........entirely possible......

i was trying to judge the width of the hopper, you'd hope it was wide enough to take a 2cx bucket full, but again having to double handle the bitmac it's be a good day to do 200 tons haha
