I've fabricated a 1900mm x 1200mm shed which I now need to put up.
The floor is made up of 47x100mm tanalised timber with one joist along each long edge and 5 equally spaced in the opposite direction. There is then 22mm exterior ply on top of this. The walls made of 47x47mm timber and screw directly to the floor through the ply.
I'll be using the shed for storing engines and other heavy stuff while I build my off road buggy:D so pimped the floor spec up a bit.
What would you guys recommend for a base to sit the shed on? I considered two small walls made of engineering bricks which ran along the length of the shed that the 47x100mm joists sat on but I was wondering if there were any major pitfalls with this approach?
Some things I have read seem to imply that having a gap under the shed floor is a good thing for ventilation but another place implied it could attract vermin to set up home under there?
