More questions about my new front garden wall.
The footings for the original wall were at ground level. However, I have dug these out completely and will replace with new footings so that the brickwork starts below ground level.
How long after I pour the concrete for the footings should I leave it before laying bricks ?
Should I tie in the brickwork with my neighbour’s adjoining wall, or should I just finish his side neatly as a straight dividing line, and starting mine with the end pillar?
If I try to tie it in, as I’m starting from a lower level than his, how difficult will it be to get my level the same ?
I’m going to use a Flemmish Garden bond for my wall so it should be fairly sturdy. However, for the end pillars (2 x 2 bricks wide, and 8 -10 high), should I use brick-ties with these, or will the pillars be strong enough ?
Sorry for all the questions, but I just want to get things right.

just concrete your new foundation level and at least 50 mm below finished ground level
DONT tie into your neighbours wall
if he decides to change it ,it will damage yours
if you pour the concret as a stiff mix you could start laying while the crete is still plastic,I have dug out ,concreted and built small garden walls in a day ,but the concrete must be stiff
matty brockhurst is in your area ,maybe he could give you some local advice

are you hanging gates on your end pillars?
if not there is no need to tie or fill the piers, i chose not to on my piers so I could run cables up them.
your brickie may fill them with leftover mortar and duff brick to save on waste, you can fit scaffolding poles/rsj's upright in the footing if you are hanging heavy gates of the pier.
if you do leave them empty you will may need to think about how you are going to support your capping depending on the type.
the wall/piers I had built can be seen two doors up from here next door to the range

do you find that people use your drive as a public turning piont?
my neighbour across the road did a similar drive and you would not believe the people that use his drive to turn around
I have a picture of a grab lorry doing it 1 day 
for lightweight gates a scaff tube concreted in is ok ,but for heavier stuff i.e. more than 30kg a gate you want a USB concreted into the foundation with the gate lugs welded onto it then built around
for these we used 152 by 152 USB 35kg 1 metre deep into the foundation
each gate weighed over 80kg so we also put an expansion joint in to the wall so if anyone does drive into the gates ,they wont lose the whole wall

the bricks were on special at 20p each, the brickie took a total of 3 days, with a total of 4 visits, spread over about two months the first pier and the centre done first then the second pier then an extra two courses across all plus the capping.
As far as I know nobody uses it as a uturn, is has less depth than the photo probably shows, i can only just turn my car in it, +the side road next door but one, goes round the back in a loop +each end of the road joins the same road.

Lovely work - but I just hate it....sums up the ex-semi detached nouveau riche, who are slowly building their way back into some sort of defence policy. I leave my gates wide open, as a policy... f***s off my pinched narrow-minded neiughbours

it was a long ole day yesterday,went swimming with the louts,then shopping,then for a meal,then linked up with my pal who is going back to saudi tomorrow,
then we went to another mates leaving do,he is off to perth for a better life hopefully
then the kebab shop for further refreshments
and finally home for a cuppa tea and bed
put it this way,i missed the grand prix this AM
