Apart from stating the obvious, ( get a sparky to do it ) how would i go about it? I've disconnected the existing wiring and moved my shed further away. I think the old wiring was the wrong type and not legal. He had it coming from the back of a gang box through the wall and directly into the shed. I reckon it should be hard wired from the main fuse box, to an outside junction, then to the shed. Before it is wired to a gang box it should go through a circuit breaker. Or can i go from a fused gang box?

normally it would go direct from the RCd side of the consumer unit via armoured cable straight to the shed
spurs are the devil's work where lectrics is concerned and dangerous
surely you must know 1 sparky sean?

I know needs rcd but going to be a freezer unit. Got the weekend off so wanted to do it myself. I might do it and get sparky to check it, done that before now.

there should be a fuse/MCB/rcd to protect the cable going to the shed than another fuse box that proteccts the cables circulating round the shed, usually one circuit for the power 32A mcb for sockets and one 6A for the lighting.
