I have to obtain 10 tonne of "Igneous rock Rip-rap", 100-200mm in size for a project in Fleet, Hants.

Any suggestions?

You need to find a basalt quarry in your area. And call it basalt not rip rap a quarryman would look at you funny otherwise. 100-200mm is a commonly used size so you could easily substitute it with local limestone/ gneiss or granite etc. Unlikely someone would deliver a small load like that from further afield.

Rip-rap? Where's that from? I've never heard that before, even in Hampshire! Sounds like an dozy architect is involved: they love using incorrect/archaic/forrin terminology because it ensures that no-one makes the mistake of thinking they could possibly be connected to the construction industry. :D

I've worked on three 'coastal protection programmes' and I've still never heard it called rip-rap!
