Got an extensive repair job to do at work to chop out and create drainage channels. I recommended grano to repair as it can be applied 20millish. two bosses said " it would have to be applied 100ml thick." what is the point of breaking out 100ml just to put it back in ??? imagine the aggro trying to expose the mesh, re-bar etc: as it stands i can plane 20ml down to 40/50ml to give me the fall and lower some gullies at the end of runs. needless to say one sits in the office all day playing computer games, the other is steelfixer boss and i am something the cat dragged in

If they want to pay for 100mm of breakout and hours of futile labour, so be it!
Sometimes, you just have to bite yer tongue and let them have their own way.

when i worked on bigger jobs there always had to be a *hate* figure
be it the clerk of the works,site manager ,subbie ,whoever
i find its great for everyone to have this particular person as it focuses bad energy
now i am in a smaller setup,and get on with the BCO, architect,client etc. its driving the lads to distraction :;):
anyone else noticed this?

in my dark and distant past i had an "acquaintence" with a geezer who found it easier to just hate everyone. we called him hate em all harry. he woul look at someone and say " i hate him." you just knew the poor fella in sight was going to get a slap.

2 of our brickies worked on the thames barrier, they recall a story about the hse compliance officer on site being a weedy officiate type who would tell all the brickies they were holding their trowls wrong, bending wrong laying wrong etc these boys all got 15+ years on the trowl. he got pushed in to the river so much they had to get him a special life saving suite that inflated on contact with the water. which then resulted in him going in more for the site of it inflating like the michellin man.

update...... i took a lot of it down and made it up with grano ( sound job)as i wanted. the men in charge went from one extreme ( 100ml breakout )to another. scabbled it and then mixed up neat cement with loads of water and brushed it on in an attempt to make it good :laugh: i'm not kidding, it looks so professional....un! photos to follow, could do with a laugh :p

If you use Ronafix Mix Design B
Portland cement
Medium sharp sand
6-3mm granite
Ronafix
water
with a bonding primer of Ronafix and cement
you can lay a minimum depth of 15mm of granite screed/repair, which will be waterproof, bonded and very very hard.
