Nal retention sockets - product code rs115 with pole box - as description on nal website

my questions are - are these retention sockets any good without the box and how much are they worth, second hand, unused ?

I remember them being used on some of the re-paving in the centre of Limerick City and not bloody one of them was put in square and plumb!

That's part of the reason why that particular contractor didn't win phase II. My favourite was the way they re-surfaced the carriageways before fixing the ironwork, and then went back to cut out around every grating and cover, re-level or fit new, and then hand-lay HRA as a patch.

Why? Because "that's the way we've always done it"! :(

Ah....well Tony, that's the way it is done round these parts - nice new road resurfacing job to be spoilt by these HRA patches around the ironworks. 'Tis strong stuff though, seems to withstand the rigours of traffic batter than the surfacing laid.
