Internal foundation below concrete slab

Hi,
We have been digging out the floors in an old barn to lay EPS insulation and underfloor heating in a reinforced concrete slab. We found out there are no foundations under the walls so have put down 20 cm wide foundations along the inside of the walls, to the height of the top of the EPS. The problem now is avoiding cracks in the concrete slab and the ceramic floor finish due to the tension created where the construction under the slab goes from internal foundation to EPS. There will be more movement of the EPS than the concrete foundations. Do we need to reinforce with an extra layer of steel mesh at the top of the slab up to 1 meter out from the walls or would the use of fibres in the entire concrete slab help, or any other suggestions?? Thanks.
