Is repointing worth it on ridge tiles, if they seem solid, just need a few bits repointing, or is it best to remove toltal, and start afresh
whats the best mix? is the a ridge tile profile you can get, or do it by a mark, and level
do you buile up the middle of the tile, as well as both ends?
cheers

if you are asking these questions ,then you really shouldnt be doing the work
roofs are dangerous places
repointing perished mortar on ridges is worthless
get the lot off(or get someone to do it) and bed on a full 3:1 mortar mix
cheers

Sound advice from LLL, IMHO. may have to replace some of the ridge though as sometimes the mortar under neath has been fixed firm and tiles crack when trying to clean .Find a local reclaim yard to see ifthey have a couple of spares. Bed with even layer each side of ridge and tap down with handle of trowel. I use chalk string line to ensure even height along ridge.
