I'm a newbie and well impressed with the site.

I've got an edge on a stretch of tarmac which needs the edge sealing to stop it crumbling. I've used a cold pour compound before that I bought in a 1 litre plastic bottle from B & Q but alas they dont stock it any more!

Can anybody guide me to a place that sells it and a brand name of a small quantity.

I live in Bath, SW England and have tried the likes of Focus, Wickes, Homebase, Travis Perkins, Build Centre, Jewson and of course B&Q - no success.

I think Prismo/Ennis in Midsomer Norton have it.

Dave L, our semi-tame blacktop specialist, lives in the West Country and he's sure to come ambling along this evening with some pertinent words.

Hi Tony, Thank you for the info. I rang and they do a 2 part 5kg pack but its £70 + vat. Its a bit too much both in quantity and cost.

I will see if Dave L can come up with any suggestions.

The one I got from B&Q was a one part, one litre sqeezy type container ideal for running along the edges of fresh cut tarmac. It cant have cost more than about a tenner, a few years ago though.

thanks again

are the council not repairing any roads close to you?, £20 in the right hand could work wonders.

Colas Bitukold is what you want - best thing would be to give the area a very liberal application of the stuff [wear gloves coz it's awful stuff to get off your maulers] in as tidy a fashion as you can with a decent sized tar brush and then cook it on with a large gas torch.

It's available in 15kg tubs from most plant hire shops etc or approach a patching crew.
