Does anyone know where i can get hold of an 18 inch beehive fireback? It is the same as the normal open fire back, except that it is curved. I have trawled the web and havent had much luck so far, but it would be a shame to have to fit a modern fireback in this particular fireplace as its shape is so unusual

Hello Matt,
I'm no fireplace expert, but it might be worth looking in France.
A lot of basic architectural salvage items are still available, at sensible prices.
Cast iron fire surrounds and backs.
If you're interested, I can send you the contact details of an English run salvage yard in my area, who send a truck regularly to the uk.
Don't want to be accused of promoting a business, but for something as specific as you're looking for... These kind of things are still easy to find here.
Cheers
