Could you confirm for me if a C30 mix is the same as the old 1:5 mix.
I am going to use this for my concrete slab, was advised elsewhere that the 1:6 mix would be better done as 1:5
Thanks

A typical C30 mix is closer to 4 parts aggregate to 1 part cement, with 40%(ish) of the aggregate being fine aggregate

Tony, Thanks for that. In your opinion would i be better off with the 1:6 or 1:5 mix being used for my slab.

What are you using the slab for?
Is it vehicular access, foot traffic, shed base, etc?
(Note, it's not that I can give you advice in this respect, however I do believe that it's "horses for courses")

The slab is for a concrete sectional building, storage and workshop only no vehicle traffic
