Hi,
We've recently bought an old house in need of some serious TLC and as a fledgling DIY'er I'm in need of some advice, so if anyone can help out with the following it's be much aprpeciated ...
The following pics show the step on our back door...
photos
As you can see it's quite badly corroded (not to mention the door). In order to fix it I was considering doing the following:
- Scrape out as much loose material as possible
- Shutter off the step by placing a board across front and fixing to walls either side with masonry nails
- Pour concrete into the void and level with existing undamaged bit of step (unsure of mix quantities though)
Does this sound reasonable, or a disaster waiting to happen? What alternatives are there?
Help and guidance would be very welcome! Thanks
