I am planning to change my front drive and there is a soakaway smack bang in the middle of the new proposed drive. most people say not a problem just cap off the soakaway with a slab of concrete - my question is what does 'capping off' mean and how thick should the slab be ? any advice much appreciated since i dont want my new drive to sink in the middle !

covering the soakaway with concrete on top of some damp proof membrane, this way it will stop your drive sinking and also stop the soakaway getting filled with rubbish
cheers LLL :)
