hi all hoping someone can help

i have an exsisting patio which i am re laying(hopefully with your helpful comments)

the patio at the moment stand about .25m above the grass. how ever i am extending the patio out by about .75m.

can i just put a single skin wall up ( the Mrs wants a fancy natural sandstone type brick) and in fill with mot or does it have to be a bit more heavy duty and if so is it with breeze blocks or normal house bircks

Cheers
Craig

well you have 2 ways of doing it
1 you can build the wall up single skin so that the flags run overthe wall by 45 mm,in this instance you can hauch concrete up the back of the single skin of bricks to strengthen it before laying the flags
2 you can build the wall above the flag height first ,where the flags will butt up to the wall, rather than run over it.
in this case the wall should really be 225 thick,i know a lot of people do it single skin but its not good practise to do it like that and it may fail......
hope this helps ya
