Hi
I'm building a conservatory where my patio was. I have dug the foundation trench on all three sides 450mm wide to a depth of ~600mm, and the earth seems to be a light clay at this level (and has been for some depth).
Unfortunately there is an ic slightly overlapping the inside edge of the footings near the house wall (foul from house), with the pipes at ~300mm below ground. This then turns down and in a little and connects to a drain running parallel to the back of the house about 2m out and 600mm down - the top of this pipe is currently exposed on both side-runs of the trench. It is surrounded by gravel.
Presumably I need to bridge the drain somehow (concrete blocks?) and I need to move the ic closer to (or on top of?) the join with the drain? This join will be inside the conservatory so I'll need some sort of double seal?
All advice on all this very gratefully received!
Thanks,
Tony.
