I am digging out a garage base and hardstanding / drive.
The subbsae will be 6" compacted hardcore 2"compacted sand then 4" poured concrete.
Which mix will be best suited and how much should I expect to pay for ready mix (per cubed metre) ?

Further info:
The mix I will be using will be PAV1 (recommended by a local ready mix supplier) and I have been quoted £60 a meter plus 230 for a pump to pump 12 M. Does this sound like a goog deal?

60 quid per metre is a very good price for PAV1. Is that a cash price?
Going back to your spec, why do you feel you need a 50mm (2") bed of sand beneath the concrete?

Tony
having spoken to a couple of builders I have now ditched the sand and will go for the hardcore then por the concrete over it.

You need a damp proof membrane between "hardcore" (God! I hate that loose terminology!) and the concrete.
