hi does anyone know a easy way to clean used bricks instead of using a hammer and bolster? im in need of clean bricks for bricking up the sides of a french door and the only bricks i have are ones removed a while ago from another part of the house and there imperial so its going to be a problem finding the same bricks.

any help would be great

No easy way, thats why reclaim bricks are so expensive!
Try a brick hammer, hold brick in on hand and knock muck off with hammer in other
Some prefer to use a small hachet, as gives a good powerful clean break, but be careful of any stray fingers.
You will soon find best place to hit the muck for most effective cleaning

...or a scutch hammer with a comb tip. Great for loosening old mortar from salvaged bricks.

There is no easy way - if there was, many of the brick reclamation business would love to know all about it!
