For a dirty patio, and concrete whats the best DIY power washer to hire, or mabye buy, I read on the power washer page, cleaners dont really help, so is it just ok to use water?

Whats the price a firm would charge per metre, any ideas

Your patio will probably need cleaning at least once a year, therefore, buying the equipment may prove more economical.

I can't say which is the best machine available as I've not used a wide enough range of them to "compare and contrast", but, generally speaking...
<ul>
<li> owt less than 100 quid is likely to be a toy
<li> look for well-known names, such as Alto, Kew, Kaarcher
<li> those models with a 'skirt' attachment specifically for patio cleaning are usually a good buy
<li> try and get summat above 100bar

Also bear in mind that all concrete paving manufacturers advise against the use of pressure washers as they camage the surface of the concrete and make it friable and therefore more prone to dusting and open to frost damage.
