I have a new development which is a small courtyard complex and I would like to gravel the drives. I am however worried that with constant turning and parking of cars that the drive/sub base will become rutted. As I am NHBC registered I am worried that I might find myself returing to site to remedy the problem on a regular basis. Is there a binder that I can use that will provide additional stability to the type 1 sub base?
Also on a similar project I have found clay migrating to the surface of the 6" subbase and subsequently through the gravel. I now need to remedy this! Any suggestions? There appear to be mixed opion as to whether a Terran or similar membrane would help.
Any advice appreciated.
